32" at Best Buy

Panasonic TC-L32C12
Sony KDL-32L5000
Samsung LN32B460
LG 32LH20

All are really strong options at 32". All are in around $400-$550 (depending on the current sale going on). I think any of those would serve you really well at that size.

Those are all basic LCDs though. Which most consumer and guru HDTV guides will tell you is all you need. But if you feel compelled to get something a bit more advanced, there are other options like,

Panasonic TC-L32G1 (adds 120Hz)
LG 32LH40 (adds 1080p and 120Hz)
Samsung LN32B650 (adds 1080p and 120Hz)
Sony KDL-32XBR9 (adds 1080p and 120Hz)

Those would be "full loaded" 32" sets. Which I think is overkill, but to each their own.

If you want bigger at 37", consider,

Panasonic TC-L37X1
Panasonic TC-L37S1 (adds 1080p)
Panasonic TC-L37G1 (adds 1080p and 120Hz)
Samsung LN37B530
Sony KDL-40V5100
LG 37LH20
LG 37LH40 (adds 1080p and 120Hz)

Again, I think any of those would also deliver a really strong image quality for you.

Last couple of things. First off, make sure to check out prices at Amazon and other major retailers. Its cool to buy from Best Buy, but make sure no one else has a better price. Best Buy will price match. Save yourself the $.

Next, make sure when you think you are a bit more settled on the exact models you are most interested in, you go and look at them in store. You have to watch a TV day in and day out, not a spec sheet or review. Bring your eyes into your buying decision.

I'm a personal fan of the Panasonic options. I really like the blacks and colors that they deliver (versus other rivals). Also the reliability of the brand definitely makes me a fan of all their TVs. I think you can get equal to better image quality for less money with a Panasonic over a Samsung.

32/37 inc LCD TV. Samsung .Sony.Sharp.Panasonic about same Pictures Quality. all are reliable.
you eye may not get any difference between 720P and 1080 P model in 32/37 inc TV. however , TV maker take 1080 P model as hi end products and 720P model as entry lever model. pictures Quality always better.
you need 120 HZ refresh rate to cover " motion blur '.
such small size TV allow only small size of Speaker. for audio , i should said , no difference .
go for Samsung / Sony / Sharp / Panasonic 32 or 37 inc 1080 P 120 HZ model never go wrong.
Samsung always more reasonable in prices. Panasonic always super reliable.

Look them over.. I like Samsung. However, it depends how the TV's are set up in the store. You can make them all look good, or bad.! Most good quality sets like Panasonic, LG Sony, Samsung, will look good. (Or should.) The 'guts' of these sets are mostly all made in one place!!

I would consider Samsung, Panasonic, Sony and Toshiba when it comes to LCD tv. Majority of Panasonic tvs have the best rating when test by Home Theater magazine. I was at Best Buy yesterday and looking to purchase a Panasonic 32" LCD for $399 (on sales), but they have sold out, model C12. Hope this will help you out.
