I bought a hitachi plasma 42 inch hdtv and just bought a hd box from suddenlink, but even after connecting everything the way it should be the channels that should broadcast in hd still look pretty bad. Do i need some type of antenna or something? Any help would be much appreciated.

I have a HD tv set! I bought the $100 dollar cables and it helps alot. You need to not use the what I call starter/free cables because they are generic not HDMI. Go to Best Buy and get them. They are wonderful. Then save up for the HD Toshiba DVD player…I have that and it’s worth it to me. I love electronic stuff more than some guys I know!!!

Make sure the actual broadcast is in HD. Many channels are digital, but not always sending HD content.
Do not waste any money on cables.

Dont know anthything about Suddenling, but you should be using a external antenna. I bought a $50 indoor/outdoor antenna from Radio Shack that I actually mounted to the back of my 50″ Hitachi and it works great(indoor). Keep in mind, that different signals come from different direction points that makes a difference.

Well you have the 2 parts needed in your home already….
HD TV and HD reciever….
Now it’s up to the TV station to be HD, and the show to be HD also…..
I Love Lucy ain’t HD, same with All in the Family….
TNT ain’t HD, but TNTHD is….
So, look for the HD logo on the TV station first, then look for NEW TV shows during Prime Time….they should have the HD logo pop up at the beginning of the show.
Anything else will be Standard definition…….
